ASIC recently extended the Limited Connection Exemption and Sufficient Equivalence Exemption for foreign financial service providers (FFSPs) until 31 March 2023, to allow time for Treasury to consult on the future approach to regulating FFSPs. On 9 July 2021, Treasury released its Consultation Paper (CP) on licensing relief and a fast-tracked licensing process for FFSPs.
