Ashurst advises Versicherungskammer on participation in MVV Energie AG

    Ashurst advised Versicherungskammer Group on its participation in energy provider MVV Energie AG. Versicherungskammer indirectly acquires a 6.8 per cent stake in MVV Energie AG in cooperation with asset manager Igneo Infrastructure Partners. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

    MVV Energie AG is one of Germany's leading energy companies. It is active, among other things, in the electricity, heat, gas and water business, energy trading, thermal waste recycling and energy services. As a pioneer of the energy and heat turnaround, the company with headquarters in Mannheim / Germany is one of the most sustainable energy suppliers.

    Versicherungskammer Group is the largest public insurer and the seventh-largest primary insurer in Germany with approximately 7,000 employees. By investing in MVV Energie AG, the company continues to expand its portfolio and supports a sustainable security of supply in Germany. The transaction was implemented with the involvement of J.C. Maxwell & Company, Frankfurt am Main / Germany, led by Anke Janousch and Holger Mayer.

    The Ashurst team was led by partners Dr Benedikt von Schorlemer (Corporate/M&A) and Dr Jasmin Gütle (Investment Funds).
