Ashurst advises John Laing on acquisition of I-4 Ultimate Project in Florida

Global law firm Ashurst has advised John Laing Group Limited, through its joint venture with Equitix, John Laing Investments Limited, on the financial close on the acquisition of Skanska’s 50% stake in the I 4 Ultimate Project, thereby securing full ownership of the asset and strengthening its North American platform.

The I-4 Ultimate Project is a public-private partnership (PPP) highway project, which plays a significant role in reducing congestion and provides additional capacity along a busy 21-mile section of Interstate 4 that also serves as a major tourist route across central Florida. The project consists of the design, build, finance, maintenance and operation of the new section of Interstate 4 over a 40-year concession. Construction commenced in 2015 and reached completion in 2022.
