Ashurst moves to new 39 Martin Place Sydney office

Ashurst has announced its move to 39 Martin Place, located in the heart of the Sydney CBD, into a state-of-the-art building. This move signifies Ashurst's commitment to providing an exceptional experience for the firm's people and clients. The new Sydney office has been designed based on principles of collaboration, agile working, and premium client engagement.

Ashurst will occupy 10,000 square metres of premium commercial office space across eight interconnected floors at 39 Martin Place. The 39 Martin Place building has direct connections to Martin Place Train Station and Martin Place Metro Station. The firm is the first tenant to sign up to the landmark 39 Martin Place precinct and partnered with Architectus and MPA to design and deliver the new work environment. In line with Ashurst's commitment to sustainability, the building is 100% powered by renewable energy sources and has achieved a 6 Star Green Star rating and a 5.5 Star NABERS Energy rating, with the Sydney office fitout designed to achieve an Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) outcome.

Ashurst's new office features five working floors, an alternative work floor, a café and terrace area, and dedicated client floors that support both formal and informal meetings, as well as various spaces for events and training. Each of the work floors is naturally lit with large windows and includes a variety of work settings to cater to different working styles and needs. These include sit/stand workstations, breakout spaces, tech-enabled meeting rooms, focus pods and rooms, and drop-in benches. The new office also features an increased number of internal meeting rooms, reflecting the evolving nature of the modern workplace.

The alternative work floor is a flexible space that offers a range of moveable work settings tailored to the needs of different teams. This floor includes bookable and non-bookable meeting and project rooms, fixed or flexible work zones with moveable walls, furniture, and screens, all designed to support complex legal and advisory work through collaboration. The café and terrace floor will be available to both staff and clients.

Lea Constantine, Ashurst’s Head of Region, Australia said:

“Ashurst’s new Sydney office at 39 Martin Place is a state-of-the-art facility that will bring our people and clients together. The firm is committed to creating working environments where people are supported to perform at their best, both in the office and at home. We have built a 21st-century workplace that serves our people and our clients."
