Global law firm Ashurst announces the appointment of technology practitioner Alexandre Brazeau as partner in the Corporate practice, based in Dubai, as the firm continues to invest in its Middle East offering alongside the expansion of its global Digital Economy practice.

Alexandre advises on the legal and commercial structuring of complex and high value technology initiatives across the UAE and wider GCC. His practice focuses on large scale digital transformation, artificial intelligence and data driven platforms, fintech and regulated technology products, often supporting programmes that sit at the core of clients’ operating models and growth strategies. He regularly acts as product counsel to leading technology companies, and advises boards, general counsel and senior technology leaders on mission critical technology arrangements, including platform buildouts, cloud and infrastructure transformations and strategic technology partnerships in highly regulated environments.

“We’re excited to welcome Alex as we continue to expand our Digital Economy practice globally and establish a dedicated technology offering in the Middle East. Alex’s experience in the technology sector is standout, particularly his deep understanding of emerging technologies and the ever-evolving regulatory landscape,” said Amanda Ludlow, global co-head of Ashurst’s Digital Economy practice. “Our clients have serious digital growth agendas and Alex’s arrival enables us to meet this growing demand for sophisticated legal advice in the technology space.”

Middle East managing partner, David Charlier, added: “Alex's appointment reflects Ashurst’s continued investment in the Middle East and our confidence in the region’s digital trajectory. With initiatives like the UAE’s National Digital Economy Strategy and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 accelerating technology adoption, clients are seeking advisors who understand both the strategic and operational realities of digital transformation. Alex’s extensive experience only strengthens the position of our existing Middle East Corporate team, allowing us to drive accelerated growth for our clients.”

Alexandre Brazeau said: “Ashurst’s focus on the Digital Economy as a core pillar of its global strategy was a key factor for me. Clients are bringing increasingly complex and strategic technology matters to the market and the strength of Ashurst’s teams across its global network, together with the momentum of its Middle East platform, provides the depth and scale required to support that work. I’m excited to join the team and to help clients deliver their digital and strategic objectives.”

Alexandre’s arrival is a further boost to Ashurst’s Middle East team, which has more than doubled to over 20 partners in under two years. His appointment follows the recent hires of real estate partner Chris Beaumont-McQuillan in Abu Dhabi, banking & finance partner Clint Dempsey and corporate partner Maha Osman in Dubai as well as local partner Leonid Stoliarski, and financial regulatory partner Raheel Butt in Riyadh.
