Global law firm Ashurst announces a record number of promotions, for the second year running, with the appointment of 25 partners, with effect from 1 May 2023.
Global law firm Ashurst announces a record number of promotions with the appointment of 25 partners, with effect from 1 May 2023.
The promotions reflect the diverse geographic and practice strength of Ashurst's global presence, and are spread across 13 offices and 13 practices, with 60% in Asia Pacific and 40% in EMEA. Further, with this latest round the firm has promoted 52 women into the partnership over the last five years, representing over 50% of the total. Ashurst's global partnership is currently 31% female, up from 19% in the 2018/19 financial year.

* Note: In accordance with local regulations, Peter Grayson will be referred as Special Counsel in Japan. Ashurst practises law in Japan through Ashurst Horitsu Jimusho Gaikokuho Kyodo Jigyo, a joint enterprise formed under the Special Measures Law Concerning the Handling of Legal Business by Foreign Lawyers (the Special Measures Law) which is affiliated with Ashurst LLP. The joint enterprise is regulated by the Japan Federation of Bar Associations in accordance with the Special Measures Law. In accordance with this legislation the lawyers who are partners of the joint enterprise in Japan are all admitted as Japanese qualified lawyers (bengoshi) or registered as foreign lawyers in Japan (gaikokuho jimu bengoshi). Peter is pending registration as a registered as foreign lawyers in Japan (gaikokuho jimu bengoshi) in Japan and will duly become partner Ashurst Horitsu Jimusho Gaikokuho Kyodo Jigyo after his Foreign Lawyer Registration is completed.
