Ashurst has advised Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) as lender, agent and account bank on a comprehensive refinancing of Immobilien Partner UKSH GmbH. The transaction comprised the increase of an existing senior facility, the repayment of an existing facility and the transfer of loan participations from certain exiting lenders to LBBW as remaining lender of Immobilien Partner UKSH GmbH, which, as a project company on behalf of the University Hospital Schleswig Holstein (UKSH), is responsible for planning, new construction, renovation, operation and maintenance of the UKSH locations in Kiel and Lübeck.
As the largest university hospital in the north of Germany, the UKSH covers the entire spectrum of modern medicine with 92 clinics and institutes in Kiel and Lübeck. Every year, 500,000 patients benefit from the close link between the UKSH's cutting-edge medicine and the innovative research of the universities in Kiel and Lübeck.
