Dr Tobias Krug is co-managing partner of Ashurst Germany, the global co-head of our finance, funds and restructuring division
Tobias specialises in structured finance and capital markets with a focus on securitised and OTC derivatives, hybrid and convertible bonds as well as banking regulatory aspects.
He advises leading financial institutions in relation to structured products offerings, including in relation to a wide array of underlying reference assets such as equities, funds, commodities, commodity indices, foreign exchange, inflation and other rates, and across various product wrappers.
He is also counsel to some of the leading debt funds and CLO managers in relation to secured and unsecured mid-cap financings in Germany.
Tobias studied law at the University of Munich and Bonn (Dr. iur.) and received a scholarship from the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation for a Master of International Law (LL.M.) at the University of Lund (Sweden).
He was admitted to the German bar in 1998.
He is the author of various publications in German and international legal journals and co-author of one of the leading books on German debt securities. He speaks English, French and Swedish.
Prior to joining Ashurst in 2006, Tobias has been with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and worked several years as an investment banker in Deutsche Bank's convertible team in London.
