Matthew Rickards

Matthew is an expert in transport and infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on major transit projects and public private partnerships (PPP/P3). Matthew relocated to New York in 2019; before that he was based in Ashurst's Tokyo office (for over 6 years) and London office (for over 10 years). This has given him extensive experience advising on major infrastructure projects in Asia, Europe and North America. 

Matthew regularly represents public bodies, sponsors, contractors and financial institutions on the development and financing of projects, as well as the acquisition/disposal of operating assets. Matthew's experience spans many sectors including transit (rail, roads, airports), social infrastructure (health, education, prisons), water, power (conventional and renewables, including solar and wind) and oil and gas (including FPSO, LNG, petrochemicals).

Matthew is admitted to the New York State Bar and is qualified in England & Wales.
