Matt Pearson is a counsel in our construction practice
Matt's practice area is non-contentious construction, with particular expertise in real estate construction. Matt is particularly experienced in advising both domestic and international clients in relation to commercial (office), mixed-use, retail, residential and student accommodation projects, from project inception through to handover and beyond. This involves advising on the full range of procurement routes. Matt's day-to-day work includes drafting and negotiating all types of project documentation: building contracts (JCT and NEC standard forms), consultancy appointments, development management and construction management agreements, performance bonds, parent company guarantees, payment security and third party security. Matt also has experience with bespoke development funding agreements and regularly advises on the construction issues involved in real estate finance transactions, corporate and asset property sales, lettings and fit-out projects.
