Lee Doyle

Lee Doyle is the global lead for Ashurst's Financial Services Industry Group and has been a partner at the firm for over 16 years. Prior to joining Ashurst, Lee served as general counsel at RBS/Natwest and sat on the UK Board from 2006 – 2009. Lee works closely with general counsels, chief executive officers and chief operating officers of major financial organisations and has a particular focus on technology, AI and the digital transformation of financial services.

Lee has been involved in numerous landmark transactions, including creating new end-to-end credit-to-lend models for two global financial institutions. This work was recognised in FT Innovative Lawyers Europe in both 2021 and 2022. During the COVID crisis, Lee played a significant role in structuring the government liquidity facilities (CBIL, CLBIL, BB Loans), acting for most of the UK's large financial institutions.

He has also worked on a joint venture between RBS and the European Investment Bank to develop a funding programme supporting carbon reduction initiatives across the public sector and acted for Barclays Bank in establishing a new German branch of Barclays Corporate.
