Lea Constantine is a member of the firm's global Executive Team and a partner in our employment practice
Lea advises a wide range of clients in work health and safety and employment law and leads Ashurst's national safety team. Clients call upon Lea's advice and experience in the management of major safety incidents and workplace crisis events. She has managed many workplace fatalities and serious incidents. Her work includes crisis management, safety investigations, managing regulator investigations, and she advises and appears in safety prosecutions and coronial inquests. She has advised extensively on safety governance issues and director and officer safety obligations. Her experience spans a range of industries including rail, mining, construction, energy, manufacturing, and financial services. She has advised some of Australia's largest corporates and Boards on their most serious and reputational matters.
In addition, since 2017, Lea has served in a number of roles in the firm. She was Sydney Office Managing Partner from June 2017. In May 2018, she was appointed to the firm's global Executive Team in the role of co-Head of the global Strategic Advisory Division (which included the Disputes, Employment, Tax, Competition and IP practices). She was appointed sole Division Head of the global Disputes, Investigations and Advisory Division from May 2019 and held this role until April 2024. In May 2024, she was appointed Head of Region for Australia, a role she held until November 2025. Lea is now working on strategic projects for the firm.
