Jon Lovell is a partner in our employment practice
Jon advises a range of public and private sector clients in relation to all aspects of workplace relations and employment law. He specialises in industrial matters, including advising on modern awards, enterprise awards, enterprise bargaining, collective and individual disputes, right of entry and industrial action. Jon also advises on unfair dismissal claims, general protections disputes, discrimination and harassment complaints, privacy complaints, workplace investigations, performance management, work health and safety, workers' compensation, internal review mechanisms and discretionary compensation schemes.
Jon regularly appears before courts and tribunals (including the Fair Work Commission) in a range of workplace relations and employment matters. Clients appreciate Jon's practical approach to resolution of claims, and strong mediation and advocacy skills.
Jon also advises clients on a range of commercial, procurement contracting and funding agreement matters. Jon has particular expertise advising on services contracts with firms in the professional services, health, social/welfare services, financial services, IT/telecommunications and research sectors. Jon also advises in relation to financial management and corporate governance issues, including in relation to transfers of functions between agencies and establishment of new agencies or bodies.
