Christoph Tornau is an associate in the Corporate department at Ashurst in Frankfurt. He advises national and international clients on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions, joint ventures and capital market projects.
His particular areas of focus are cross-border acquisitions and disposals, strategic investments, carve-outs and private equity investments. Christoph has extensive experience of advising institutional investors, industrial companies, start-ups and growth companies. He regularly advises on transactions in the automotive and renewable energy sectors.
Christoph also works in equity capital markets, specialising in capital increases, share placements and IPOs, where he applies his expertise in regulatory and corporate law.
He studied law at the University of Bayreuth, completing additional training in economics. He graduated as a commercial lawyer (Univ. Bayreuth), specialising in tax and corporate finance.
During his legal training, Christoph gained experience working for a leading German commercial law firm, a major American law firm, and a Stuttgart-based law firm specialising in family businesses. He also gained valuable experience in insider monitoring at BaFin.
