Ashurst corporate and finance partners recognised by IFLR1000 as Women Leaders

    Ashurst is proud to announce that the following partners were named in IFLR1000's "Women Leaders", a publication which recognises 300 female lawyers globally who are considered to be "the best transactional specialists in their markets and practice areas":

    These partners were selected for their outstanding performances in innovative deals on the basis of recommendations by clients and fellow practitioners.

    The following features their profiles and highlights some of their recent deals:

    Kate Allchurch

    Kate is a banking partner in our Singapore office and has more than 25 years of experience across a comprehensive range of banking transactions. She is particularly recognised for her financing work in emerging Asian markets such as Indonesia and India. Recent examples of transactions on which Kate has advised include acting for the mandated lead arrangers in relation to a senior secured financing to a listed Indonesian company secured primarily on a multi-purpose development in Indonesia and acting for the arranger of a complex bridge financing (and the subsequent refinancing) in relation to the acquisition of shares of an Indian petrochemicals company.

    Her client-focused approach to practice has led clients to describe that she "cuts through the jargon and gives commercial advice" and "provides very timely and commercial advice".

    Helen Burton

    Helen is our Global Client Partner and is a member of the global executive team. She is also the global head of the fund industry a banking partner in our London office. She has represented private equity firms, direct lending funds, banks and corporations in a wide variety of financing transactions, and has particular expertise in cross-border leveraged finance. She has worked on numerous private debt transactions, including recently acting for CVC Credit Partners and HSBC as lenders backing the acquisition of the PEI Group by Bridgepoint Development Capital.

    Sarah Dulhunty

    Sarah is a corporate transactions partner in our Sydney office with 30 years' experience advising on public markets transactions including regulated M&A, equity raisings and recapitalisations. In demonstration of her market standing, Sarah is an Acting President of the Australian Takeovers Panel.

    Recent experience includes advising Downer EDI on it’s a$1.011b accelerated renounceable entitlement offer with rights trading (PATREO) and $1.27b takeover bid for Spotless, Dar Group on its acquisition of an economic exposure of 19.9% in WorleyParsons, Fletcher Building on its NZ$750m accelerated entitlement offer, Boart Longyear on a series of restructurings and the joint lead managers on CBA's $5b PAITREO and a series of regulatory capital raisings known as PERLS which raised over $2.4b. Her other clients include major investment banks such as UBS and Macquarie and ASX listed clients such as Challenger and Australian Unity Office Fund.

    She is valued by clients for her "laserlike focus on the clients' interests" and for being "incredibly experienced and pragmatic."

    Anne Grewlich

    Anne is a finance partner in our Frankfurt office and heads our German banking practice, a market leading team in relation to mid-cap leveraged buy-outs, unitranches and super senior facilities. Sources note that Anne “quickly understands the big points for the banks and is very supportive in negotiations, responsive and easy to deal with.” Over her years of practice, Anne has developed particular expertise in acquisition, project and structured finance. She acts for banks, private equity firms and debt funds. Anne recently represented the Bank of Ireland, IKB, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and UniCredit on the financing of the purchase of German hospital group, Oberberg Gruppe by Trilantic, expanding Ashurst's leading role in the active German nursing home and hospital market.

    As a founding member and board member of Women in Finance e.V., Anne is also already keenly committed to supporting women working in the finance industry. She is also a member of Generation CEO, an exclusive network of female top managers.

    Anna-Marie Slot

    Anna-Marie is Global Head of High Yield and a New York law securities partner with two decades of experience in finance, particularly in the area of high yield debt. She has extensive experience acting for banks and other companies in a wide collection of high-profile corporate finance and securities transactions, and has worked across a number of jurisdictions, including Hong Kong, New York and London. In the past 12 months, she advised on Greenko's US$1 billion green bond offering, which is Asia's largest corporate dollar green bond issuance to date. She also advised Studio City on a US$1.2 billion high yield bond offering in 2016, which won High Yield Deal of the Year by the IFLR Asia Awards 2017. She is currently ranked Band 2 in High Yield Debt in Greater China by Chambers.

    Alongside her well-regarded practice, Anna-Marie is also an enthusiastic advocate for women's leadership in the workplace. This year, she spoke as a panellist at AIG's "Celebrating Women in the Workplace" conference in June and the "3rd Annual Women in Leadership Summit Asia 2018" in January. She is also on the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce as well as the steering committee for the Women of Influence Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce.
