Lucy Thomas appears on the panel at the Joint Planning Law Conference 2017. On 16 September, Lucy Thomas presented a paper entitled "'Compulsory Purchase – between a rock and a hard place?' The Future for comprehensive regeneration following Aylesbury." The paper discusses the role of compulsory purchase to facilitate redevelopment of housing estates and reviews the arguments for and against such development and refurbishment, and the main avenues for challenging such schemes, including inadequate compensation and breach of the public sector equality duty.
