Emerging Talent Hub and Virtual Experience Programs

Visit our Emerging Talent Hub to get an insight into the world of commercial law. You can access one or all of our open access virtual internships which focus on the legal work we do as well as programmes that focus on your employability skills. Our hub also has a number of resources which will give you further information on the work we do as well as our people and culture.

Vacation schemes

We have two vacation schemes – a one-week scheme in the Winter that is open to finalists and graduates from all degree disciplines, and a three-week scheme in the Summer for final-year students and graduates of all degree disciplines, as well as penultimate year law students.

You’re paid £450 per week. Please note our vacation scheme salary may be subject to change in the event that the scheme takes place virtually.

On these intensive schemes you get a good understanding of what it’s like to work here and a chance to experience our culture and the kind of work we do.

Supervised by a qualified lawyer and a personal mentor, you undertake useful and stimulating on-the-job tasks.

There are also induction sessions, workshops, team-building events and social occasions organised by a committee of trainees, who’ve been where you are now and know the best way to introduce the firm.

APPLICATION PROCESS AND DATES

First Year Insight Days

Attend one of our First Year Insight days to better understand what it's like to work at Ashurst. The Insight day is open to first year law and non law students (or second year of a four year degree course) who are keen to find out more about law in the City. You will have the opportunity to learn more about Ashurst and understand the day to day role of a trainee.

Insight Day 1 (In person)

5 April

Applications Open: 9 January 2023

Application Close: 24 February 2023 at 12pm

In person - The firm will reimburse travel expenses up to the value of £100

Insight Day 2 (Virtual)

13 June

Application Open: 27 February 2023

Application Close: 28 April 2023 at 12pm

Application are open to current first year law and non law students (or current second year students on a four year degree course).

Application Process

You will be asked to complete our application form detailing why you are interested in Ashurst and a career in commercial law. You will receive the outcome at least two weeks before the Insight day. Please note we will not be reviewing applications on a rolling basis therefore all candidates will be notified of the outcome after the closing dates and at least two weeks before the Insight day takes place.
