Learning & Development

In addition to your daily work in the team, you can participate in all the internal training courses (e.g. specialist lectures, soft skills, training, workshops, social events for our Associates and trainees lawyers). You will also have access to our library and databases.

Real working experience

We provide you with real experience of what it's like to be a lawyer at Ashurst. You'll have the opportunity to work on current legal matters with partners, and clients on a daily basis.

The recruitment process

We look for Master 1 or 2 students who have:

  • a desire to work in a global environment
  • a team-focused attitude
  • an understanding of the overall economy
  • a good command of English
  • a background in business school or international experience—whether professional or academic—is highly valued.

You'll be asked to upload a CV and academic transcript as well as complete several short answer questions. Our application lets you showcase your talent by sharing why you want to be a lawyer at Ashurst. You are welcome to write your application in either English or French.

You will meet face-to-face with our partners, lawyers, and members of our People & Culture team for a conversational interview that is designed to assess your personal and technical skills. We ask competency-based questions that give insight into the behaviours we value at Ashurst. It’s also an opportunity for you to find out more about us, so please come prepared with your questions.

We are flexible on when you complete your internship with us.
