A sustainable and community-focused law firm

Our global Corporate Responsibility programme is formed of projects local to individual offices within our network, which reflect the social, political, economic and environmental challenges of that location, as well as regional and global projects that make best use of our capability to respond to challenges that cut across borders. The programme is separate from, but complementary to, our global pro bono legal practice and from our Diversity & Inclusion programme.

Corporate Responsibility

Our Focus Areas

Volunteering & Giving

We are committed to recognising and responding to the needs of the communities in which we are based, and to using our skills and resources to provide sustainable support to the most marginalised and disadvantaged. We also recognise that, as a global law firm, we have the responsibility and capability to respond to international disasters.

Business Community Leadership

We utilise our skills, experience and expertise to contribute to thought leadership, law reform, and research and development in areas that are important to our clients, the legal profession and broader business communities. We are transparent in all we do and behave in line with our core values: collaboration, excellence, innovation, integrity and accountability.

We have a long history of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, having worked with some clients for over 40 years. In 2013, we published our first Reconciliation Action Plan, setting out our commitment to take specific and measurable steps to progress reconciliation. In November 2018, we launched our new Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan, which is available to download below.

We recognise our responsibility to protect the environment by ensuring the sustainable use and disposal of scarce resources. We seek to do so by carefully managing our supply chain and consumption of resources. We take a precautionary approach to environmental challenges.

Make a Difference Month

Make a Difference Month takes place each September and is a way for us to raise awareness of social justice issues that are important to the communities that we are part of. It also gives our people an opportunity to get involved and support a range of volunteering and giving initiatives.
