Ashurst has advised the German battery manufacturer Colibri Energy GmbH from Berlin on a successful Series A financing round with Emerald Technology Ventures, Nabtesco Technology Ventures and ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund.
Colibri Energy develops and produces modular and low-maintenance lithium-ion batteries that are used around airports and in industrial logistics for floor conveyors and ground equipment. With its products, the Berlin-based company wants to play a key role in decarbonization and environmental protection in the airport environment. In mid-March 2023, the Dutch Royal Schiphol Group announced that it would electrify all ground vehicles at its airports; energy-efficient battery products from Colibri Energy are already in use at 22 international airports, including Frankfurt, Istanbul and Doha.
Ashurst's M&A/VC team advised Colibri Energy, led by Counsel Dr. Valentin Pfisterer, supported by Senior Consultant Reinhard Eyring and Associate Christoph Tornau (all Corporate Transactions, Frankfurt).
