William Robertson is an associate in our U.S. projects practice
Drawing on his background as Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of a CFTC-registered swap execution facility, his previous experience as an executive-level lawyer at a securities regulator, and an extensive M&A practice (A$100 million–A$2.8 billion) spanning both private practice and government, Will advises on large-scale infrastructure projects, public-private partnerships, energy transition transactions, regulated market infrastructure, and the intersection of project development with derivatives and commodities regulation.
Will has direct experience navigating the CFTC's exchange registration process, having led a successful swap execution facility application from preliminary outreach through designation. He leverages this operational perspective in advising clients on market structure, regulatory strategy, and the design of trading frameworks for energy and environmental commodities, including virtual and physical power purchase agreements and REC purchase agreements.
Will is admitted in New York and Victoria and New South Wales, Australia.
