Tony is an expert in all aspects of environment and planning law, including the planning and environmental assessment processes for major infrastructure, resource and energy projects, responding to major environmental incidents, compulsory acquisition litigation, managing contaminated land risks, and defending procedural challenges to approvals for major projects and climate change obligations.
Tony acts for both major private and public sector clients across a broad range of environmental issues. Tony regularly advises on the approvals and assessment processes under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (NSW), the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth) and other environmental assessment regimes applicable to major energy, resource and infrastructure projects around Australia.
Tony is very experienced in acting for major corporations in responding to regulatory investigations and prosecutions relating to environmental incidents and has successfully defended numerous legal challenges in respect of approvals for major projects.
