Tom Punton is a senior economist in our competition and EU law practice
Tom is a senior economist in the competition and EU law department in London providing economic advice and analysis in relation to a range of competition matters including mergers and acquisitions, investigations of alleged market power and anti-competitive practices and agreements, and competition litigation.
He has acted for clients across a diverse range of industries including healthcare and pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, software, retail markets and utilities. Tom also has extensive experience in the telecoms sector having worked for the UK communications regulator for three years.
Tom has advised on a number of significant cases. These include advising UHS in relation to its acquisition of the Adult Services Division of Cambian Group Plc; Arla Foods in relation to the acquisition of Yeo Valley Dairies; and Virgin Media in relation to the successful appeal of Ofcom's Business Connectivity Market Review in front of the Competition Appeals Tribunal.
