Dr. Tobias Bauerfeind is a senior associate in our finance department and a member of our German regulatory practice
Tobias advises banks, fintechs, financial and investment services firms, fund managers, payment service providers as well as institutional investors on all regulatory issues. His practice covers all areas of asset management and financial regulation (including AML matters) as well as corporate law and banking M&A.
During his doctorate (JGU Mainz) and legal clerkship (OLG Frankfurt) he worked in financial services regulation for various international law firms as well as for the German Central Bank (Bundesbank) and the ECB. He studied law in Mainz, Berkeley (Cal) and Oxford (Brookes, LL.M.). In 2022, he joined a US investment bank and the Ashurst office in London as a secondee.
Tobias is a reader in financial market law at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and publishes regularly in relevant journals. He also is a fellow at the Research Lab for Law and applied Technologies (ReLLaTe).
