Tae Royle is Director of Ashurst Advance, Client Solutions APAC. He leads a cross disciplinary team to deliver sophisticated managed legal services to listed entities, financial institutions and government agencies. Services provided span the full range of commercial practice including administrative law, financial regulation, competition, construction, employment, insurance, leasing, procurement, reorganisation, remediation and repapering. He has delivered hundreds of matters and projects during a career of more than 20 years.
Tae is a market leader in the convergence of law and technology, including areas relating to artificial intelligence, machine learning, document automation and legal process automation. Tae founded the legal technology team at Ashurst in 2015, growing it into a global team servicing clients across the Ashurst network. Projects led by Tae have won numerous awards including Most Innovative Law Firm, 2022 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards Asia Pacific, Excellence in Technology and Innovation, 2020 Australasian Law Awards, and Most Innovative Law Firm of the Year 2020 & 2019 British Legal Technology Awards. Tae has been featured in BOSS of the Australian Financial Review and on the Australasian Lawyer 'Hot List’.
Prior to joining Ashurst Advance, Tae practiced corporate law in Australia, Canada and China. He focused on unregulated M&A, commercial contracting and project development in the technology, energy and resources sectors. He has been admitted to practice in Queensland and Ontario.
