He is an expert in corporate governance, corporate strategy, compliance, corporate law and pharma law. As the former CEO of STADA Arzneimittel AG, he played a decisive role in the takeover of the company by Bain Capital and Cinven, and in many other major transactions.
As a co-author of the "Pharma und Life Science" handbook, Matthias is a recognised expert for pharma law and for compliance.
With his industrial expertise, his transactional experience and his management know-how, Matthias is strengthening our corporate and healthcare advisory practice for our clients.
Beside his consultancy role for Ashurst, Matthias is an investor and entrepreneur in the healthcare market.
Matthias studied law in Heidelberg, Montpellier and Freiburg. He was admitted to bar in 2001 and published a multitude of professional articles and handbooks. He speaks English and French and is an advisory board member on various national and international companies.
