Matt advises global financial institutions, funds and corporate borrowers on structured finance and growth capital issuance, acquisition financings, and fund financings, both domestically and internationally. Matt has built up particular expertise in the speciality finance markets, acting for both lenders/purchasers and borrowers/issuers, and across product lines.
He has also spent time on secondment with The Royal Bank of Scotland plc and EY Corporate Finance, the leading financial services debt advisory team, where he advised on speciality finance transaction structuring, development and execution.
Matt’s recent experience in the speciality finance market includes advising the funder in relation to a forward flow agreement and associated equity investment in a buy to let mortgage lender, a leading bridging lender on their equity structure, holdco funding lines and senior / mezz funding, and retail and challenger banks on their financing of non-bank financial institutions, and his recent experience in the leveraged finance market includes advising a variety of credit funds on the their leveraged finance and holdco PIK transactions.
