Mareike Walter-Schunke is a senior associate in our competition practice in Munich
Before joining Ashurst, Mareike has provided legal advice at another international law firm, focusing on European and German regulatory law with extensive experience on international compliance and competition-related matters, as well as on international merger control proceedings, horizontal and vertical cooperations, agreements within the distribution chain, and antitrust procedures before German and European competition authorities. Mareike has worked across a variety of industries, such as automotive and mobility, pharma and healthcare, digital services industry, logistics and FMCG.
Additionally, Mareike has worked as an independent attorney, offering legal services to commercial and private clients, including commercial and competition law-related advice to German in-house teams (i.a. a EURO Stoxx 50 company) and general legal advice in German private and administrative law to small companies and private clients in the area of German private and administrative law. As an in-house lawyer (Syndikusrechtsanwältin) Mareike also provided legal advice on a variety of legal topics and with a strong focus on the implementation of regulatory requirements in operational processes.
As a certified mediator, Mareike is committed to fostering good communication and acceptance within organizational processes. She is a qualified German attorney at law and is fluent in English and Spanish.
