Lorraine advises on a commercial disputes, contentious regulatory investigations, class actions and international arbitration.
Lorraine regularly acts for Australian and global financial services clients, as well as professional auditing and consulting firms. Her work includes acting for Lehman Brothers Australia Limited (in liq) in defending a class action brought by investors of synthetic collateralised debt obligations, and acting for the Royal Bank of Scotland in three related Federal Court proceedings including a class action by investors, relating to the RiverCity tunnel. Lorraine has acted on a range of regulatory enforcement matters, including ASIC examinations, civil penalty proceedings, banning proceedings and markets disciplinary panel proceedings, as well as ATO inquiries. Lorraine has also advised on complex banking and securities investigations for a leading US investment bank involving multiple jurisdictions and regulatory authorities across Asia Pacific.
