Katrin Ruhl is a counsel in our dispute resolution practice in Munich
Katrin is a Counsel in our Dispute Resolution Team, based in our Munich office. She is part of the product litigation and product risk practice at Ashurst.
Katrin is an expert in products law, advising clients throughout the entire life cycle of their products - from product development and market launch, to post-market surveillance, product recalls, and product liability matters. She provides comprehensive advice on product compliance, regulatory requirements, and product liability. Her broad expertise encompasses general commercial matters and civil litigation, regulatory compliance, and investigations (including support during dawn raids by public prosecutors or competitors at client sites), as well as defending against any type of information requests (such as data access requests from consumers).
She has extensive experience advising clients from various sectors on products law, with a particular focus on the life sciences industry, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and lifestyle products, often involving complex technical and scientific background.
She has in particular vast experience in defending national and international companies against complex, cross-border consumer mass product liability claims, co-ordinating defence thereto in multiple jurisdictions and establishing an overall defence strategy. This goes hand in hand with crisis management to minimise the damage to the client's reputation in product liability cases.
Katrin studied law at the University of Augsburg. She was admitted to the German Bar in 2017. Before joining Ashurst, she worked in the Munich office of another international law firm.
