James advises major financial institutions and global corporations in relation to complex and strategically critical litigation, regulatory investigations and class actions. James also advises clients on non-contentious regulatory reform and implementation, as well as remediation and rectification activities. James has particular expertise of the Financial Accountability Regime having been seconded to implement the regime at a major Australian bank.
James has defended major investment banks, retail banks and other Australian corporations in class action and strategic litigation in the Federal Court of Australia, the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Supreme Court of NSW. James has also advised a major Australian bank during the Financial Services Royal Commission and several associated regulatory investigations.
James holds a Bachelor of Arts (Classics) and a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne. He is admitted to practice as a solicitor in the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Victoria.
