Geoff is a partner based in Perth, Australia. He is also our Chief Operating Officer and a member of our Global Executive Team.
Geoff has held a variety of leadership roles at Ashurst, including the leadership of its Projects, Real Estate and Corporate practices.
Geoff has practised in the resources and projects area, with a particular focus on environmental, native title, land access and heritage issues for more than 30 years. He has been ranked by Chambers and Partners for more than 15 years as an Eminent Practitioner and Band 1 leading individual for his advice to proponents concerning complex native title issues. He advises major mining and energy companies, utilities, industry bodies and government in relation to native title, Aboriginal heritage, environmental, land tenure and resource access issues affecting existing and planned infrastructure and mining developments.
Geoff advised on Australia's first registered mining indigenous land use agreement and some of Australia's most significant agreements between resource developers and Australian First Nations peoples. His clients include major Australian and international resources, energy and infrastructure companies.
