Dimitra Karakioulaki

Dimitra Karakioulaki is an associate in our antitrust, regulatory and trade and international arbitration practices in Frankfurt

Dimitra advises clients on the full spectrum of EU and German antitrust and competition law, as well as foreign direct investment (FDI) matters. She also advises corporate and sovereign clients in connection with international arbitration proceedings and on issues of public international law.

Her experience includes merger control and FDI filings in complex cross-border transactions, strategic counselling on EU regulatory and sustainability frameworks, and advisory work on public international law matters, with a particular focus on privileges and immunities, international criminal law, and international human rights law.

Dimitra holds an LL.M. from Columbia Law School, an LL.M. from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and an LL.B. from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Dimitra is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Thessaloniki Bar Association, and the Frankfurt Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in the United States and Greece and is registered as a griechische Anwältin and Attorney-at-law in Germany. She is fluent in Greek, English and German, and proficient in French.

Prior to joining Ashurst, Dimitra worked at another international law firm in Frankfurt, and at academic institutions and non-governmental organizations in the United States and Europe.
