David Wadham is managing partner of our Tokyo office, our global co-head of power & utilities and a partner in our projects practice
David specialises in the acquisition, development and complex multi-sourced financing of power and renewables projects globally.
Over the past decade, he has worked on well over 40 power projects across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North and sub-Saharan Africa. His expertise includes advising government, sponsors and funders (both commercial banks and export credit agencies) and he has widespread experience in relation to conventional (gas, coal and oil), renewable (solar, wind and tidal) and nuclear power projects.
His experience covers all aspects of power and renewables, including commercial contracts (PPAs, fuel supply, construction and O&M/LTSA arrangements) and complex ECA and commercial bank finance documentation. He also advises on shareholder and share purchase documentation.
David was based in Abu Dhabi for eight years and has significant experience of the Middle East project finance market, including Islamic finance.
David is qualified in England & Wales and is a registered foreign lawyer (Gaikokuho Jimu Bengoshi) in Japan admitted to the Tokyo Bar Association.
