Cara North is a counsel in our international arbitration and disputes practice.
Cara has extensive experience acting for clients on large and complex multijurisdictional disputes, specialising in domestic and international commercial litigation, arbitration and investor-state dispute resolution.
Her expertise includes arbitrating under the rules of various arbitral institutions, acting for clients in complex and high-profile litigation in the UK, the US, Guernsey, the Cayman Islands, Hong Kong and Malaysia and advising corporate and sovereign clients on the risks and prospects of the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and judgments.
Cara regularly publishes and speaks at conferences on topics related to international arbitration, international commercial litigation and private international law. She has a Master's Degree in International Dispute Settlement from the University of Geneva and the Graduate Institute of International Development Studies.
Prior to joining Ashurst, Cara worked in the disputes teams of firms in London and Geneva and worked as a consultant for the Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on Private International Law for five years.
