Annalisa focuses on Australian competition and consumer law, with nearly twenty years’ experience advising on complex competition matters across Australia, Hong Kong, the UK, and the EU. She joins Ashurst from the Commonwealth Treasury’s Competition Taskforce, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the Australian Government’s reforms to Australia's merger control rules.
Annalisa’s distinguished career spans both private practice and regulatory roles. She previously served as Director of Merger Investigations at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, where she led high-profile merger reviews across a broad range of industries. Her expertise also extends to financial services and payments, having held senior positions at the Reserve Bank of Australia and the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
Annalisa's breadth of expertise includes M&A transactions, corporate strategy, investigations, cartels, concerted practices, misuse of market power and abuse of dominance, specialised training, dawn raids and other aspects of the competition and consumer law. Annalisa is particularly focused on innovation markets involving technology, financial services, payments and data.
With a unique combination of regulatory insight and private sector experience, Annalisa offers clients a strategic perspective and a deep understanding of the economic and legal landscape. Her leadership in delivering Australia’s new merger rules positions her as a trusted advisor for clients navigating the complexities of the country’s evolving competition regime.
