Adam Levitt is a partner in our insurance practice

Adam is a senior partner in our corporate insurance team and co-head of Ashurst's global insurance industry group. He specialises in corporate transactions for insurance companies and banks.

Adam specialises in corporate transactions for insurance companies, banks and other financial institutions.

Adam is regarded by Legal 500 as a "Leading Individual" and a "Notable Practitioner" in Chambers. He started to focus on insurance in 1995 when at Slaughter and May, where he worked on demutualisations and other portfolio transfers. He then spent 11 years as a partner at Herbert Smith before joining Ashurst at the end of 2012.

Adam wrote the original Practice Guide to Insurance and Banking business transfers under FSMA for PLC. He also worked on the first-ever banking business transfer under FSMA. Additionally, Adam has presented at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries annual conference on a variety of subjects including portfolio transfers, using captives and insurance-linked securities.

Adam works for a broad range of clients including Punter Southall Group, Swiss Re,‎ Generali, captives of multi-nationals, Pacific Life and JC Flowers.
