Ashurst was recognised for its work on the ADNOC gas pipeline project, which was named EMEA Oil & Gas Deal of the Year. A team led by partners Stuart James and Luke Robottom advised on the landmark US$20.7 billion energy infrastructure deal, which saw a consortium comprising Global Infrastructure Partners, Brookfield, GIC, OTPP, NH Investment & Securities and Snam invest in select ADNOC gas pipeline assets. The deal is the single largest infrastructure investment in the Middle East, and one of the largest global energy infrastructure transactions in 2020.

The firm was also recognised for advising Equitix on its acquisition of leading smart-metering business MapleCo, which was named EMEA Smart Meter Deal of the Year. The Ashurst team was led by partner Jason Radford.

The IJInvestor Awards relate exclusively to operational assets and recognise outstanding achievements in fundraising, deployment, asset management, acquisitions and exits in the infrastructure and energy sectors.
