The awards recognise excellence and achievements across the region’s leading law firms, in-house legal teams, individuals, deals and cases over the past year.

Ashurst won the category due to a demonstrated commitment to disability inclusion and the value and contribution that people with disabilities make to the workforce and to the legal profession.

Global head of Inclusion, Diversity & Belonging, Kasey Zun, comments: "Ashurst's approach to inclusion, diversity and belonging is comprehensive and impactful, and we are honoured to be recognised in the Australasian Law Awards. We constantly focus on proactive initiatives that provide real solutions for our people, and are proud to be leaders in this space. We are incredibly proud of the work that our disABILITY employee network do to progress disability inclusion by continuing to build understanding, awareness and education across the firm."

In particular, the firm's "Workplace Adjustment Passport" was selected as a stand out initiative. The Passport is designed to ensure open and honest communication about the adjustments needed in the workplace to support employees living with disabilities and to help partners and line managers ensure equal access and opportunities for all. Due to the wide-ranging and complex nature of disabilities, the varied range of impacts on employees and the equally varied nature of workplace adjustments, the Passport allows employees living with a disability to communicate their needs so that adjustments can be made so that they can thrive in their roles.
