Ashurst recruits real estate specialist as counsel

Ashurst adds Bernd Bäumer as counsel to its German real estate practice on November 1st. He will be based in our Frankfurt office. Until recently, he has been working as a senior associate for real estate and real estate transactions at Noerr LLP.

Bernd Bäumer has been a part of high-profile transactions in the real estate sector. In 2018, he inter alia advised Schwarz Group (Lidl) on the acquisition of Germany’s 5th largest waste management company Tönsmeier, IT services provider Ensono on the acquisition of the hosted data center services division from Indian seller Wipro comprising 8 data centres, and real estate investor Redos on the acquisition of the ‘Bordeaux portfolio’ comprising 10 specialty retail centres from Invesco.

With the latest addition, Ashurst’s real estate team headed by Dr Liane Muschter consists of two partners, one counsel and six associates.
