Ashurst named Law Firm of the Year at the Planning Awards

The awards recognise excellence in professional planning work, as well as related activities such as placemaking, urban design, economic development, housing, regeneration, legal advice, environmental consulting and property development.
The firm received the award in recognition of its role in advising Grosvenor on its flagship build-to-rent scheme in Bermondsey, with the judges paying tribute to the team’s “multi-layered approach to legal strategy”.
A team led by partner Trevor Goode, assisted by senior associate Charlie Reid, advised Grosvenor at every stage of the project, from acquisition and development strategy through to securing a fantastic planning permission. The firm's central role on the project and strong links with the GLA and Southwark, enabled Ashurst to streamline the s106 negotiations and secure a commercially robust, viable and deliverable planning permission.
