Ashurst hires new Partner Nicholas Mavrakis in major expansion of disputes practice

    Nicholas is a pre-eminent litigation practitioner who has been recognised in Chambers and Partners and other directories as a Leading Individual for many years. He joins Ashurst in Sydney from Clayton Utz, where he has spent his entire career. He has over 25 years of experience managing large and complex litigation in a wide range of areas.
     
    With a broad practice encompassing commercial disputes, regulatory investigations, class actions, securities law, cartel disputes, fraud and tax disputes, Nicholas is one of the most sought-after litigators in Australia. 
     
    He has extensive experience advising Australian and international corporate and banking clients on their local and global disputes, regulatory and internal investigations and follow on regulatory enforcement action and litigation.
     
    Nicholas is regularly called upon by financial services clients to assist in complex regulatory investigation and disputes, covering a broad spectrum of areas across financial planning, responsible and consumer lending, markets, culture and governance. He has extensive experience in complex investigations undertaken by Australian regulatory bodies including ASIC, the ATO and the ACCC and he also undertakes Royal Commission assignments.
