Commenting, Jason Radford, global head of the corporate division at Ashurst, said:

"I am delighted that Andrew will be joining us on his return to Australia. He is a proven, cross-border, cross-practice operator on major corporate matters. His digital economy/telecoms and corporate carve-out expertise will build on existing strengths and considerably enhance our offering. Andrew's appointment is a further demonstration of our ongoing investment in the growth of our Australian corporate team, having hired Greg Golding, Rob Hanley, Ben Landau and Andrew and promoted Anita Choi, Lynda Tully and Rebecca Cope to the partnership this year. I expect this growth to continue."

Amanda Ludlow, co-head of the global digital economy practice, added:

"Ashurst has a market leading digital economy team, working at the forefront of industry innovation and Andrew's arrival will not only strengthen our overall global offering, but will greatly complement our existing top tier practice in Australia by further enhancing our transactional expertise across M&A, JVs, financings and strategic projects. Andrew has exceptional credentials in digital transformation, digital infrastructure and digital regulation and he will also play a key role in ensuring we fully capitalise on opportunities in the energytech, fintech, infratech, healthtech and Govtech sectors."

    Andrew Craig added:

"There are significant opportunities in the digital space in Australia, especially in the financial services and private equity sectors. Ashurst is a fantastic platform from which to work in Australia given its international reach. I'm looking forward to working with its highly talented team of practitioners to grow the digital economy business with existing and potential clients that are increasingly focussed on investments in this area."
