Ashurst achieves Bronze Ranking in the 2017 Australian Workplace Equality Index

    The AWEI is the definitive national benchmark on LGBTI workplace inclusion and comprises the largest and only national employee survey designed to measure the overall impact of inclusion initiatives on organisational culture. The results are measured by each organisations diversity & inclusion initiatives over the preceding year.
     
    Partner and Spectrum Strand Champion Peter Chalk commented: "We are delighted that our efforts for LGBTI inclusion have been recognised by Pride in Diversity. This is fantastic acknowledgment of the work and advocacy undertaken by Spectrum Australia over the past 12 months and reflects our work to ensure that the firm promotes fairness and equality for all members of our community."
     
    In the past year Ashurst's LGBTI network, Spectrum Australia has had a number of highlights including launching its global transitioning policy as well as offering LGBTI workplace awareness training to all employees.
     
    Head of HR, Australia Richard Knox said: "It is a great achievement to receive a bronze ranking as recognition our of efforts to support LGBTI workplace inclusion. This reflects our efforts to ensure the firm is one where all people can feel safe, accepted, included and valued." 
     
    The AWEI saw 116 employers across Australia participate in 2017, with 34 of them awarded a bronze ranking.
