Recruiting and engaging staff
One-day workshop
Recruiting and engaging the right staff under the right contractual terms is a critical function for all employers. These processes set the foundations for the employment relationship and employee and manager expectations. These processes also involve some inherent risks, such as discrimination, adverse action and misrepresentation.
Ashurst's Workplace Learning practice offers learning options addressing each of these topics, either combined, or as stand-alone modules. The programs can be from two hours to a full day, depending on what learning outcomes you would like to achieve.
Recommended for: All staff with recruitment responsibilities, and their HR and legal advisors
Learning outcomes
At the end of our one-day program, participants will understand:
- The relationship between contracts, policies, awards and enterprise agreements
- Key issues when reviewing contracts and policies for compliance with the National Employment Standards and other legislative requirements
- The importance of well drafted policies and procedures
- The consequences and risks of inadequate recruitment and engagement processes; and
- Strategies for managing risks, such as discrimination, misrepresentation, adverse action, background checks and privacy.
We can also conduct a gap analysis and review your policies and procedures and template contracts of employment in advance of any training.
