Shingo specialises in advising Japanese clients on a range of cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures and real estate transactions as well as advising UK subsidiaries of Japanese companies on commercial contracts and regulatory and compliance issues.
Shingo spent eight years as a Japanese qualified lawyer (bengoshi) at a Japanese law firm in Tokyo before he joined Ashurst London. In Tokyo, he advised both domestic and international clients in a range of transactions in relation to real estate investments, structured finance, renewables developments, financial restructurings and insolvency work.
He has a deep technical knowledge of English and Japanese legal systems as well as cultural similarities and differences between the UK and Japan.
