Andre Dauwalder is a counsel in our project & real estate practice
Andre has over 10 years' experience in the energy and resources sector, having worked with a diverse range of clients including network service providers, retailers, project developers and government. He has a particular focus on renewable energy projects (including advising on regulatory issues and key project documents, including PPAs, connection agreements and asset management agreements), energy due diligence underpinning M&A transactions, battery storage and hybrid systems, embedded networks, the retail framework and operation of the national electricity market.
Andre has significant in-house experience, having completed secondments with Bow Energy, Arrow Energy and Kumul Petroleum in Papua New Guinea. Prior to joining Ashurst, Andre was a senior lawyer at the Australian Energy Market Commission, working on a significant number of rule changes, reviews and other energy market reforms. He has deep knowledge of the energy regulatory frameworks, energy policy development mechanisms and the ongoing energy reform agenda.
