Ashurst received the Next Generation Innovation and the Compliance and KYC Innovation awards at The Legal Innovation Awards, held on Friday 22 May in London. The firm was also highly commended for the Diversity Innovation award.

Hosted by Legal Week at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower in Knightsbridge, the awards aim to recognise individuals and teams at law firms and other suppliers of legal services who are helping to drive forward their businesses through innovation and new thinking.

Ashurst took the award for Next Generation Innovation - which looks at firms developing new ways of nurturing up-and-coming talent - for the creation of a legal analyst role for graduates not pursuing the traditional trainee route. The firm also won the award for Compliance and KYC Innovation - which acknowledges the significant contribution to the overall success of the business by the compliance team - for the design of a cutting edge Risk Assessment system which gathers intelligence on clients and matters incepted by the firm globally. Ashurst was highly commended for the Diversity Innovation award, which commends innovation investment in new processes and strategies to promote greater diversity within a firm's culture.

    Managing partner, James Collis, said:

"This is a great accolade and we are delighted that Legal Week has recognised our efforts to bring innovation, creativity and new thinking to the legal sector."
