Ashurst Hong Kong advised Nomura International (Hong Kong) Limited on the proposed HKD880.5 million privatisation of HKSE-listed econtext Asia Limited by way of scheme of arrangement. Nomura acted as the financial adviser to Digital Garage, Inc., the controlling shareholder of econtext Asia and the offeror in the proposed privatisation.
econtext Asia, the shares of which are listed on Hong Kong Stock Exchange, is principally engaged in the business of providing online payment services, advertising related services and other e-commerce solutions. Digital Garage is principally engaged in the internet business in Japan and the shares of which are listed and traded on the JASDAQ market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Ashurst team was led by Hong Kong-based corporate partner Jonathan Hsui, finance partner Doos Choi and securities partner Kensuke Inoue, assisted by other team members including Chin Yeoh and Mansu Pak.
