Maria Jose Menendez named one of the most influential women in Spain

Ashurst's managing partner in Madrid, María José Menéndez, has been named as one of the most influential 500 woman in Spain by leading daily newspaper El Mundo.
The list published by El Mundo was based on various reports and data including Grant Thornton's report "Women in Business", a report by Atrevia and IESE Business School about women at Board positions and data provided by the Securities Market Commission and the National Statistics Institute of Spain.
María José was appointed managing partner in 2016 and specialises in corporate and commercial law, particularly M&A, joint ventures and commercial contracts. She also has wide-ranging experience in financial services and insurance sectors, as well as in commercial arbitration. She is one of the best-known lawyers in the insurance industry in Spain, having advised on most of the major transactions in the last 15 years.
María José Menéndez said:
